Year 1 Extended Induction update

Lynda Young, Student Services' Communications Officer, and Heidi Kelly-Hogan, DIT's Retention Officer, will both be attending the next Induction session in week 5 (Gleeson Hall, Kevin St.). In advance of this, they will be running an online chat session for new students in DIT who may have questions relating to their first year experience and their transition to third level education. The session will run on Tuesday, 3rd October, from 1pm - 3pm.

Supplemental results

For all those who have received supplemental results, I hope you have been successful and can progress into the next year of your programme.

For those of you who were not successful and were referred to the School, the following information is important.

REFER: If you did not pass your supplementals and are listed as "REFER", you need to retake module(s) and cannot progress to your next year. Make sure that you understand your repeat codes.  Modules that you have failed an exam only (RE), you can repeat externally. Modules that need the CA component repeated, whether separately or along with the written exam, require an internal repeat (RCA/RAC). Note: You will need to submit your Internal Repeat form and a copy of your results to the School of Computing Office. It will be checked and signed by the School and then forwarded to Registrations office. You will then receive an invitation to register.

Supplemental results and subsequent registering

For those students who had to take supplemental exam sittings, you won't receive your invitation to register until your supplemental results have been processed. All DT282 supplemetal results should now be published. If you have not received your invitation to register, please attend class as normal while you wait for your registration invite.

If you have not enrolled on the DT282 Course Information page on Webcourses, I recommend you do so asap. This page will contain your student handbook, CA schedule, contact information for Year Mentors, etc., for years 1, 2, 3 & 4.
